We need to be consistent

This document aims to maintain consistency across all MAL Rewrite synopses regarding terminology.

It tackles changes in English localization—including sub versus dub—and differences across varied medium adaptations. Inquiries not dealt with in this document should be directed to a coordinator.

As MyAnimeList is primarily an English site, the only localization that will be considered is English.

Notes

  • entry - MyAnimeList anime or manga database page

  • original release - source material of the entry or version in the database

  • licensed term - translation or word the licensing company has used
