How the synopsis is written depends on the content presented in the movie.

If the movie is considered a:

Type	Approach	Examples
Standalone Title	Write the synopsis following the normal procedure detailed in Writer Instructions.	Bakemono no Ko Josee to Tora to Sakana-tachi Summer Ghost
Sequel	Write the synopsis according to the Sequels section. These commonly serve as the finale of the story; be extra mindful to avoid including spoilers.	Cardcaptor Sakura Movie 2: Fuuin Sareta Card Steins;Gate Movie: Fuka Ryouiki no Déjà vu Tamako Love Story
Prequel	Write the synopsis according to the Prequels section.	High☆Speed! Movie: Free! Starting Days Kizumonogatari I: Tekketsu-hen No Game No Life: Zero
Separate Story Arc	Write the synopsis focusing only on the side story. Refer to the OVAs/ONAs/Specials section for more details.	Naruto: Shippuuden Movie 2 - Kizuna Non Non Biyori Movie: Vacation Violet Evergarden Gaiden: Eien to Jidou Shuki Ningyou
Summary	Write the synopsis as you would for the parent series. Do not mention that the movie is a summary or a compilation.	Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch I - Koudou Haikyuu!! Movie 2: Shousha to Haisha Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica Movie 1: Hajimari no Monogatari
