Creating the Synopsis Document

Before creating your synopsis document, it is helpful to have the Synopses (Ongoing) folder readily accessible in your Google Drive. This can be achieved by creating a shortcut or adding the folder to your starred tab; how to do the latter will be shown. If you already have done this, continue to step 1.
In Google Drive, locate the MAL Rewrite Docs folder and find the Synopses (Ongoing) folder. Right-click the folder name or click the dropdown arrow next to it, hover over Organize, and select "Add to starred." When visiting your Starred page, you will now have direct access to the folder.
1. Open the Synopsis Doc Template and click File → Make a copy.
2. Name the copy as Series Name (Writer Username). The series name should be identical to what is on MAL, and your writer username should be from MAL—not Discord.
If there is more than one name on MAL, use the bolded title in black.
3. Click the tab under Folder and go to the Starred tab. Select the Synopses (Ongoing) folder.
4. Click Make a copy.
5. In the copied file, write your MAL username and the series name beneath the appropriate headers (see screenshot below). Insert hyperlinks to both your MAL profile and the series page by highlighting the relevant text and pressing CTRL + K on Windows / CMD + K on Mac.
6. Once you have completed the above steps, you can start writing your synopsis under the "Original Text" section in the copied file. Good luck!
7. Any interesting additional information about the anime/manga that adds value to the synopsis can go in the Background Information section. This is only an optional step, not a requirement.

At no point should you move your synopsis from the Synopses (Ongoing) folder to the Synopses (Finished) folder. Do not click Remove in your personal Google Drive, as this will make your synopsis inaccessible to editors and coordinators.
