Ensure that the synopsis introduces the core elements of the story. This can include, but is not limited to:
The main character(s)
The central conflict
The stakes
The setting
Make sure there are no spoilers or mentions of plot-specific events which may harm the reader's enjoyment of the work. Ensure that specific plot details are limited to the initial episodes/chapters.
Even if it is early on, avoid describing specifics for plot twists or shocking moments. These can be simply hinted at or even hidden, especially if the shock factor is critical to the series' enjoyment.
Remember that the intended audience is one who is unfamiliar with the series.
Do your best to include the names of main characters, along with other important keywords, like terms that are highly associated with a series. This helps the reader better understand the series, but it also helps with search engine optimization, which—while not critical—is nice to have.
The most important part is to make sure the core elements of the story are introduced while avoiding major spoilers. Focus on those first, and then this part second. Ultimately, what should be included varies on a series-by-series basis.
