# Introduction

## Welcome to Editing for MAL Rewrite!

Whether you are new to the club or only new to editing, this document should give you an idea of what editors need to do and how to do it. By following these instructions, you make the editing process move smoothly for everyone involved and enable us to craft the best synopses possible.

The main responsibilities of Rewrite's editors are:

* Edit synopses to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency.
* Review incoming writer applications, giving respectful but constructive feedback on the applicant's submission and voting on whether they would be a good fit for the team.
* Write some synopses of your own (not required, but recommended).

A Google Docs version of these guidelines can be viewed [here](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1O0sPVsX9GQ32d1iCuIEFY4uQi_FkHeV7mSt5_pla2t4/edit).
