# Requirements

All new writers are required to write **at least one synopsis** **in the month following their acceptance**. If this requirement  met, the new writer will be removed from the organization and cannot rejoin without reapplying.

If there are any issues with meeting this requirement, you must contact [one of the coordinators](https://myanimelist.net/staff/rewrite) to request a formal extension, and we will do our best to work around your circumstances.

Even after the first month, writers must continue to write at least **one synopsis per quarter** in order to keep the "Rewrite Writer" banner on their MAL profile. If a writer becomes inactive, they retain their membership in the organization and have the opportunity to regain their banner by resuming activity in a later quarter.
